Collage album covers for Google Photos
Google provides the option for users to choose their own album covers, but sometimes it’s difficult to choose a single image to represent an entire experience. To consider ways in which album covers could be personalized and more descriptive, I designed a concept for users to create custom collages for photo album covers.
Tools used: Figma, Google Photos, Google’s Material Design, Adobe Photoshop, paper and pen

What’s new?
Multiple selection
When choosing an album cover, the user has the option of selecting multiple images for a collage. I referenced apps like Instagram and LiveCollage to build this interactive function.
Auto composition
As the user selects more images, new collage arrangements are automatically shown in the top horizontal scroll bar.
Personalized edits
Once a collage is selected, details such as the margin, filter, and colors can be adjusted to create a unique album cover.
This was an interesting concept to explore and led me to think about different ways we can let users personalize their data. Since Google is a well-known company with an established design system, I used this as a fun challenge to design within the parameters of Material Design and practice cohesiveness with their products.
